A crown (also known as a “cap”) helps keep what’s left from a damaged tooth and helps to maintain bone health and nerve function.
Crowns are most often used to:
● Correct a bite
● Restore a broken tooth
● Rebuild a tooth after a root canal
● Cover a dental implant
● Provide support for bridgework
● Improve the appearance of a discolored tooth
To create the crown, your dentist will take an impression of your bite, shape the tooth that needs the crown, and then take another impression in order to create a well-fitting crown. The crown is created, and then cemented to your tooth.
If you think you or your children might need a crown because of tooth decay we encourage you to give us a call at 1-877-520-0044 or fill out an appointment request form.
